Episode 288: Bring Back Giordano?
Posted on March 14, 2022 (Season 10)
This week the guys spend most of the show looking ahead to the NHL Trade Deadline on March 21 and what they think Brad Treliving needs to do to improve the Calgary Flames. Matt thinks this is the year to go all in to ensure a winner by acquiring players with term, and Dan wants to take a more cautious approach with rental players and wait to see what next year’s contract situation looks like. But the one thing the guys can agree on is that bringing Mark Giordano back at the deadline is a bad idea – despite the popular opinion in the C of Red.

Thanks for the comment Ian! Jarome was the first choice that year we’re told, and Jagr was the “backup plan”.
I agree. Gio was a great player and player rep along with his wife in the community. Yet I too feel there was something not quite right in the dressing room with Gio as Captain. No need except maybe sentimental reasons for Gio to return to the Flames.
Personally I wished Inginla was brought back the year Jagr was signed. Jerome would of been a better player and influence that year.
