Episode 108: Goodbye Mason Raymond

Posted on February 10, 2016

Even after a good week with 2 of 3 possible wins, The Flames once again find themselves closer to winning the Draft Lottery than the Stanley Cup, and things are getting tense. Coach Harley left the ice early after a practice where the team wasn’t showing the effort they need to be – and Bouma and Monahan showed up late. With Mason Raymond not playing his best the Flames reassigned him to the AHL this week, and brought Jakub Nakladal up to fill in for Wideman (who is suspended 20 games).

We recap the last week of hockey and look ahead to another ‘do or die’ week for the Flames, and predict how they will do. Plus we’ll cover some trade rumours and other news and discussion for the C of Red this week.

Posted on November 5, 2015

As October has come to a close, the Flames hope to put this month behind them and look forward to a better month on November. We talk about the positives we’ve seen in the Flames games recently, and how they may be able to work themselves out of their funk. After a disappointing start, some fans are calling for Bob Hartley to be replaced and we discuss if this is a good idea or not. There is a big focus on goaltending this week as we cover Hiller’s injury, Ramo’s recall and how all 3 goalies have performed over the first 12 games – and if the Flames should give Jon Gillies a start.

We discuss the Sam Bennett goal in Game 3 that the league disallowed and if we think it was “in” or “out”, its similarities to Gelinas’ goal in 2004 and what the league needs to improve to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
