Then we discuss the Flames development pipeline and how the team’s future looks in terms of young player development and what the team’s strengths and weaknesses are for the foreseeable future.

The guys have different ideas of how to handle the Sam Bennett request for a ‘change of scenery’ and debate how they’d handle the scenario and what a reasonable return might be.

Dan and Matt discuss the Flames shaking up their forward lines and what impact that may have on the slumping group, if the Tobias Rieder waiver move and Alan Quine being recalled will have any effect on the team, and what (if any) kind of the trade the Flames could make to shake things up this early in the season.

It’s early February, and we’ve only had two Flames games in the last week – which means we’ve got more time this week to discuss the upcoming trade deadline. We discuss the Flames reported interest in Mats Zuccarello, Chris Kunitz, and Ryan Dzingel and our thoughts on the Flames first round pick being traded, and if we think the Flames can afford to trade their high round picks again this year. On the flip side, what do we think the Flames have to give in a trade that would be attractive to other teams?
