This is still a work in progress. Many older episodes weren't tagged correctly with all mentions, and even some newer episodes are missing tags. We hope to update and add to this repository over time. If you're looking for something specific, please contact us and we would be happy to help.

Episode 234: The Buddy Robinson Hokey Pokey

Posted on February 11, 2020

The guys look at the season so far broken into seven-game series, and the Flames have faired so far while wondering if the Flames can ride their big win over the Canucks into the California road trip.  With Hamonic and Giordano out, how does the Flames strategy change coming up to the Trade Deadline, and do they need to make a big move to bring in a blueliner?

Episode 233: The Alberta Beef

Posted on February 4, 2020

The Flames are back in action after their bye week and had two big games over the Oilers, and discuss how the Flames went from good to terrible against the Oilers in a 72-hour stretch. Why the inconsistency this season, and can it be remedied, or is the issues the players in the room?

The guys discuss if it’s time to look at Tkachuk and Lindholm as their top two instead of Monahan and Gaudreau – and if so, does it make it easier to trade Monahan or Gaudreau?  Of course we need to talk trades prior to the Trade Deadline, and is it time to move on from TJ Brodie to fill the gaps on the forward ranks? How about Mikael Backlund?

Episode 232: UFAs – Keep ‘Em Or Trade ‘Em?

Posted on January 21, 2020

With the Flames still locked in a bitter battle for a playoff spot in the Pacific Division, should the team stand pat at the Trade Deadline, or move all of their expiring contracts, and hope for the best in the post-season? The guys answer this question and discuss if keeping Brodie, Hamonic and Cam Talbot for a (likely) protracted playoff run is really worth missing out on the trade value.

Episode 224: One Goal All Week?

Posted on November 19, 2019

The Flames played three games this week, and only managed to score one goal?  This is the team’s first time being shutout of back-to-back games since January 2014. Are things as bad as they look for the Calgary Flames this season? How long does the team have to turn things around before the playoffs are out of reach?

Matt lays out his case for why it might be time for the Flames to pull the plug on this season, and re-tool the roster instead.

Episode 190: Getting The Most Of Our Assets?

Posted on November 13, 2018

The Flames have returned from their California road trip and we break down three very different games from this week – including the goaltending in each game as the Smith vs. Rittich debate continues.

Our main discussion this week centres around some of the players that we, and our listeners, have tagged as “disappointing so far”. We discuss what we need out of these players for them to not to have a disappointing season.

And just for fun, Dan and Matt kick around the idea of the Flames acquiring William Nylander, what it would take, and if that cost would be worth paying.

Episode 188: Let’s Never Mention That Penguins Game Again

Posted on October 30, 2018

Coming off of a 3 game losing streak, and a disastrous game against the Penguins, the Flames played the best defensive game we can remember against the Leafs to break the losing streak, and the Flames are now guaranteed to end October with at least a .500 record.

TJ Brodie has been getting a lot of criticism from Flames fans. Matt suggests trading him and Dan asks what we think a reasonable return would be – and we discuss Michael Stone and Mark Jankowski’s positions in the lineup going into November and what the Flames schedule looks like for the next month, as well as our predictions for the coming week.

Episode 185: Off To Another Slow Start?

Posted on October 9, 2018

The Flames opened their season with a home-and-home series against the Vancouver Canucks, with each team winning at home. Losing their ninth season opener in a row, the Flames still have a lot to work on moving forward including their powerplay. This week’s episode looks at these two games and what the team needs to work on still and how Dube and Välimäki looked in the first two games. And we’ll look at the roster moves including the recall of Rasmus Andersson and how he slots into the lineup, Hamonic’s injury and if he should have fought or not, and the current line combinations before the team heads to Nashville.

Episode 151: A Busy Week of Surprising Changes

Posted on June 27, 2017

It’s been a busy week for the Calgary Flames and GM Brad Treliving. The NHL Entry Draft, the Expansion Draft, and the Flames acquiring goalie Mike Smith and Defenceman Travis Hamonic to fill two big holes in the lineup, and put them into “win now mode”. The guys will break down all these moves and discuss what it means for the future of the franchise.
